Our court date has finally been firmly set for Monday Dec 8. We have been preparing for our court appearance and I have completed my statement to the court.(3 pages long) Likely we will have the kids birth Certificates on Tuesday the 9th of Dec. Allowing us to travel to Moscow Thursday the 11th. Im guessing the kids will be brought to us from up north Wednesday the 10th. Woohoo! No second train trip! We spent Tuesday with the kids because Svetlana had to travel north to get papers from there. Once again the power went out and we spent the evening with them in the dark. Problem with this is that the paperwork we needed had not been printed yet and had to be notarized there. Last time the power went out it was out for 10 days. As you can see we wondered if the adoption was going to be completed this trip.
Things have finally been coming together all at the last minute. The judge has been overbooked being the only judge here. Despite that she has been extremely helpful and accommodating. She is even working during her personal time this weekend to expedite the process for us. None of this would be happening if it wasn’t for Svetlana and her relationship with the judge and other people involved.
